Dura Sun Solar Requirement Calculator for Homes, Businesses and Agriculture
This solar calculator helps estimate rooftop solar system size for on-grid solar, hybrid solar and off-grid solar applications. It can be used for home solar backup, office solar, shop solar, small business solar, agricultural solar pump support and solar battery storage planning.
The result includes recommended solar plant capacity, solar inverter size, approximate panel count, rooftop area requirement, lithium battery capacity and possible monthly electricity bill savings. Final solar design should always be confirmed after checking site conditions, shadow area, roof direction, load pattern, sanctioned load and local net-metering rules.
Solar Calculator FAQs
How much rooftop area is required for a solar system?
A practical estimate is around 90 to 110 sq.ft of usable, shadow-free rooftop space per 1 kW solar plant. Actual area depends on panel wattage, panel layout, service gap and roof structure.
What is the difference between on-grid, hybrid and off-grid solar?
On-grid solar is mainly for electricity bill reduction. Hybrid solar adds battery backup for power cuts. Off-grid solar uses battery storage to run selected loads independently from the grid.
How is solar battery backup calculated?
Battery backup is estimated from selected backup load, required backup hours, battery voltage and usable depth of discharge. For accurate sizing, essential loads should be separated from non-essential heavy loads.
Can this calculator be used for commercial solar requirements?
Yes. Select the commercial tab and enter actual office, shop, showroom, clinic or small business loads. For larger commercial solar systems, Sada Energy can provide a site-specific engineering estimate.
